A new Hope, episode IV out in 1977, was the first action movie starring a woman with a leading role in a movie ‘for men’. Star Wars became the highest grossing film of all time and Princess Leia became one of the most ‘badass’ character of all time. However, the actress Carrie Fisher was cast under the condition that she had to lose 10 pounds for the movie.
In a galaxy far far away, the young farmer Luke Skywalker embarks on a journey that will change his destiny forever in the midst of a civil war between the Empire and the Rebels. The Rebels have stolen plans to the Galactic Empire’s Death Star, a colossal space station with enough power to annihilate an entire planet and these plans are the Rebels’ only chance to destroy the Death Star. Young Luke Skywalker will be joined on his journey by Old Ben-Kenobi, an ancient Jedi fighter during the Clones War, Han Solo, a famous smuggler and Chewbacca, Han Solo’s sidekick. They will have to save Princess Leia from the hands of the ruthless Darth Vader and make sure the plans, hidden in the memory of a droid R2-D2, are brought safely to the Republic. Skywalker’s journey however doesn’t stop there. After escaping the Empire on numerous occasions, young Luke, Han and Princess Leia will join forces to destroy the Death Star once and for all. Back on the Rebel base on Yavin 4, Princess Leia will award Luke and Han medals for their heroism, marking the beginning of a friendship of great significance for the future of the galaxy.
